“How to Talk” Practice & Discussion Group

Thursday mornings May 25 10:30-11:30 & June 8 from 10:30-11:30 am 

PARENT DISCUSSION GROUP FOR “HOW TO TALK” WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS –  Registration is now open for the first session of the “How to Talk” practice and discussion group. Join others to discuss issues related to parenting. Topics will be whatever group members bring in that day to discuss. I provide relevant expertise, leadership, facilitation and direction as needed and appropriate.

Is one hour enough time for individual attention and practice?

Yes! The group is kept small. There is no power point or teaching component. It will be a discussion based group focused on issues related to parenting. Topics will be whatever group members bring in that day to discuss. I provide relevant expertise, leadership, facilitation and direction as needed and appropriate.

Will this group be ongoing? Can I join the group at any time?

If there is enough interest from a core group of at least 4 people this will be an ongoing group with rolling registration. Registration requires a commitment to a full session of meetings. Given the time of year, the first session will be just 2 meetings  – May 25 and June 8. Future sessions will consist of 4 meetings each.

Is the group covered by my insurance?

If your insurance plan includes coverage for out of network mental health services you may be able to get some reimbursement for invoices you submit.

Who will be in the group?

The group will be open to anyone who has taken the How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk Workshop. This is to insure that all participants have a common knowledge base so that time can be spent primarily on practical application.

What is the cost?

Fees for the initial two week session are $150 (cash/check)/$154 (credit/debit/HSA card) and are due before the start of the first meeting. Assuming the group goes forward (either through the summer or reconvening in the fall) fees for each session (4 meetings) will be $300 (cash/check)/$308 (credit card) and will be due at the first meeting of the session. Meetings missed for true extenuating circumstances can be rolled over and applied to the next session but are not refundable.
