National Prevention Week – Talk Back to Worry: Managing Stress and Anxiety

As pressures for students to perform and conform continue to increase, worry (and the stress it generates) is becoming a more prevalent disruptive force, both at home and at school. Unmanaged worried thoughts can hijack the brain’s availability for learning, negatively impact health and well-being and create a lot of family stress. In this presentation you will learn a bit about the brain and how anxiety and worry get in the way of effective functioning. You will also learn a practical, four-step process for managing worry that can reduce the impact of stress and increase the brain’s capacity for learning, regulation and relationship.

Plenty of parking available at the Westport Town Hall.
