Parenting Workshops and Groups
“The key to being a good parent is wanting to be a good parent strongly enough to make the time to do it.”
Edward Hallowell, The Childhood Roots of Adult Happiness, page 35.
Raising children is a demanding job that requires ongoing flexibility, adaptation, and skill--especially skills of self-regulation. Yet it can be hard in our fast-paced, individualistic lives to make the time to learn, hone, and practice these skills. We're supposed to know, somehow, what to do or to figure it out on our own (maybe with a little help from AI and social media). Plus, worry, competitiveness, and fear often interfere with our best intentions.
It does, in fact, take a village to both raise a child and to support their parents. My workshops strive to create such a village - if only for an hour or two - where parents can receive compassionate guidance and support for learning how to create Base Camps for their children that support long-term health, well-being, resilience, and thriving.
